Why I write/ About Megan

It’s about time I updated this. I am now a 26 year old high school English teacher with a strong urge to document my time as a young mother expecting my second child. I am currently teaching full time at a large technical and academic high school. I love to teach, and I love to mother. Doing both is challenging, and without 2 families that help us and encourage us I know I couldn’t do it.
My child is currently about 16 months old. She is light and air and wind and rain. She speaks in tongues, but does have a few words in her repertoire. I pretty much think she’s the world’s perfect child, perfectly imperfect. She is our world.
I have been married nearly 2 years and love my husband the same way I love my baby girl- with everything I have. He is learning to be a dad as I am learning to be a mom and he provides for our family in all ways possible. We love him a lot. Yeah.
I have a 1.5 year old black lab named Gracie- she is my bane and my love. We have a true love hate relationship, but the love rows each day! She is our fur baby. Our 2 year old black lab, Maggie, passed away one week after Shiloh was born. She was our best friend and first daughter and we miss her every minute. Every minute.
I am beyond excited to have a family of four. I love caressing my smallish baby bump (almost 13 weeks along as I write this). I dream of a family of 2 children that play and love each other, as they teach each other how to forgive and how to get over differences. Being a sibling teaches you so much! Thank you for reading about our journey. I hope it’s as entertaining for you as it is for us!

Hey again…how did you get your “about Megan” page to show? I’ve edited and updated mine a few times thinking that it was just a fluke, but it never comes up! You can’t see it right? Help!

I read your guest post over at Hangry Pants and I really enjoyed it! I would very much be interested in following your blog. I’m sure I could get some helpful tips for the day when I become pregnant. I have 9-year old foster son (soon to be adopted…I hope it’s soon) but I have no experience with babies too much and none with pregnancy.
I have two blogs that I would love for you to check out. One is my journey to attempting a healthier lifestyle and the other is about me an my family experiences.

Exciting! Congrats on your pregnancy! I am a high school math teacher. Oh I love it! I’m on maternity leave now, I had a little boy in February. I miss teaching dearly! Some good snacks that I ate throughout the pregnancy were nuts, powerbars, and lots of peanut butter!

Hi Megan! I read your entry yesterday about the RH factor. You know that Grandma P. was RH negative as well. She did just fine, delivering four healthy, “beautiful” daughters. So try not to worry, okay? Love you, Aunt Mary

Hmmm Interesting I did not know she was negative. That makes me feel better that this test was accurate! I wonder if she ever got a Rhogam shot…..

I tried to contact grandma a few mins. ago but she was probably outside. Will let you know what I find out tonite when I see her. Love you.

Hi Megan! Grandma P told us there was no such thing as Rhogam when she had babies. Sounded like she would not have needed it, anyway, since she gave birth to those four “beautiful” daughters long ago. I am enjoying your photos and journal very much. Love, Auntie M. (follow the yellow brick road)

Hi! I came across your blog from a link from HangryPants’ site. I love your nursery! It is so great to see others going through the ups and downs of pregnancy. I’m hoping to be one of them soon
My husband and I co-blog about trying to get pregnant (we’ve hit some snafoos along the way… who would’ve thought that would be the hard part?) at http://thisplaceisnowahome.wordpress.com.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, hope to see baby pics soon!
